David Lynch

I’m gonna miss David Lynch’s light as much as his darkness. I grew up watching his films when I was a kid (maybe considered too young these days), and it’s easy to spot his subliminal influence in my photos and writing. In 2008, while the restaurant was closed during the lull of summer and hurricane season in Puerto Rico, I would occasionally make short films that I recorded on a pre-HD DV camera, starring my dog, Pedro.

The next one was made with one of my line cooks at Casa Isleña. Now that I’m watching it again, it’s definitely a bit of a pre-amble to Swim Home to the Vanished.
